Office Object-ivity: Pen & Paper vs White Out & Highlighter

Paper (index card) was on the ground, in the middle of ring (desk drawer), wrinkled from his left & right margins. The top & bottom margins were torn by the pressures of White Out. In the heat of the battle, Highlighter jumped into the ring after tagging with White Out. Highlighter grabbed Paper and ran across his chest with yellow streaks. "Take that," Highlighter screamed with anger as the streak hit Paper.
"It's going to take more than that to take me down," aching with pain, Paper managed to get back to his feet. "I'll tear you apart," he said.
"You don't have the strength to rip me apart," I'm made of biodegradable plastic.
Paper and White Out were not cool with each other. In fact, White Out despised Paper. The feud between Pen, Paper, White Out, and Highlighter was always extreme. They met up tonight to fight against one another for the (OWF) Object World Federation championship belt. It was the final stages of the match and all participants were hurt. Paper was torn and ripped by the margins, Pen had ran out of ink, and Highlighter & White Out were drying out as the battle was coming near a close. At the same time humans were disposing of old supplies.
"Jerry, can I borrow your highlighter?" Dave said.
"Nah, it doesn't work," Jerry replied. "I am going to get rid of it." Highlighter was tossed in the trash can.
Jerry was rumbling in the ring (desk drawer) for more objects while making conversation with Dave.
Since Highlighter disappeared it was a double team against White Out. He was thrown against the side of the ring and tossed to the ground. Pen wrote on him with what was left of ink and Paper could only twist the cap to let him dry out some more.
"This is crazy. You can't take me one on one," White out was uttering comments that I cannot explain.
Jerry, what about that P en there, let me see it," Dave reached for the pen, tried to write with it and was frustrated with its results. "Hey do you need this? It doesn't work anymore."
"Get rid of it," Jerry replied eager to clean out his cabinet.
"Oh yes," White Out thought. "Now you're in trouble. You have no back up." White Out got a burst of energy and struck some solution on Paper erasing some of his words. Each word that he erased made Paper weaker & dumber. Paper was swaying left to right, staggering and fell to the ground. White Out had to be careful. The more solution he released on Paper the quicker he could vanish.
Jerry spilled white out on Paper until he reached a point of no return.
"Darn it, this is just my luck today, Jerry was flabbergasted at himself for wasting it.
"No problem man. We all have good and bad days," Dave tried to calm the situation.
Jerry took out the White Out and attempted to use it to check for performance. It worked but just barely. It was drying out. "Man this White Out is technically no good; the money we spend on supplies is ridiculous." He kept it because it had some life left in it.
White Out scored by an anonymous decision from the human. The belt belonged to him.
"Hey, Jerry what about that Paper," pointing to th stack of index cards? Dave asked.
"Hmmm, it looks beat up. Man, see I let Jill borrow some index cards and this is how she repays me."
Jill was a prankster and she had written, Jerry, Jerry quite contrary on each index cards with the Pen, then highlighted contrary with a Highlighter and made a mistake spelling quite as quit and used tons of Jerry's White Out. Unfortunately for Paper, he was tossed in the final seconds of the match.

Top-level comments on this article: (4 total)Hi James.Very creative and entertaining. So, do you actually get any work done? :) Or does your imagination run away with you?Loads of fun!DianneI sort of, kind of work, I guess...lol. Nah, my imagination just runs with it. I usually just type out some sentences, get my characters together, and go with the mood. In this one, human interaction depicts how the objects prevail.
I liked your ending - very entertaining. I seem to have days like that!I am glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it happens to me sometimes too. Thanks for commenting.
James, very nice. Do you always write in the abstract? Your mind must be racing like 1000 mph. By the time I catch up with you, I'm..tired. hehe Down for the count.Yes writing in the abstract is one of my strongest points. My mind races and keeps going, so sometimes I have to pump the brakes. I do have have writing air bags just in case of accidental writers block.
I really enjoyed this one - love the way you are wired and write it out for the reader to be drawn in!Yes, why thank you. I try to bring the reader into the action as if you're standing there with a camera recording the action. It's live action that never stops.
