Wear that Fall/Winter Gear

Sweaters, jackets, and gloves oh my, how quickly the summer ended. If you love the fall and winter this is your time to shine. Break out that fall gear you've been dying to wear. Ladies the boots the boots are the greatest thing invented besides the hot dresses. Men our sweaters are the coolest thing on the planet. Our suits are also off the charts. I break out my gray v-neck merino sweater with a nice button down shirt and I'm fly. Yes, I'm fly. You can be too.
Ladies fall/winter gear is hot. I extremely like the boots and dresses. Even the long legged jumpsuits are nice at times. Colorful but not too colorful, remember it's Fall. Wear colors such as orange, tainted red, light green, black, gray, maroon, and rust colors.
Men our colors are the same but w/slightly different shades. If you wear red, it's not really red, it's probably between red, pink, and white or a combination. If it's orange, it's probably a faded orange, orange yellow color. I love the rustic color of shirts. Jeans are a given usually blue, black, brown. Occasionally we will tweak it with some Dockers or khakis to add flavor. If you're not into fashion just jeans all year round will do, but uh, you're going to sweat bullets in the summer, maybe even spring. A light shade of blue, brown or green is perfect for suit accessories. A stripped tie does not necessarily go with a striped shirt, especially if it has vertical lines. A bow tie does not go with all your suits. A v neck sweater should be worn with a tie if professional means are required or with a t-shirt or button down, if nonprofessional.
Mixing it up - Mixing and matching gear is the name of the game. If you don't have much in your wardrobe, you'll have no choice but to wear those knee high boots with skinny jeans. If you have only one suit available, just change the shirt or tie and it's a whole new suit. Pumps are in, preferably 3-4 inches high, sandals just left the building.
Food - Eating Laffy Taffy candy is acceptable with a dark shirt and jeans not in a white t-shirt and khakis. Same applies for a candied apple. Breakfast is the healthiest part of the day, but remember to use a napkin in your lap. I dropped an omelet on my tan dress pants and had a tantrum. I should've used a bib perhaps. Water is the best type of accident on clothes because its invisible only when it dries. Koolaid or any powdered substance can hurt your fingers & clothes until washed. Pull out your handy dandy notebook and write this down: I will not eat food in the car with the baby crying and little Johnny screaming with her, it's an accident waiting to happen.

You have a great sense about what to wear and it came through very well in your article. It was a nice twist coming from a man, doesn't happen often on Searchwarp.Thanks. I respect my clothing as do people. It alarms me when someone has a bad nitch on fashion.
hehe I liked the way you ended this. You learned an important lesson about Kool Aid too. That stuff colors hair for heavens sake!GraceYes, Koolaid is in the top 30 of easy to use, but hard to get rid of categories. I might try to dye my hair a yellow color and see what happens!
I'm from Maine originally but have been living in Florida for 13 years now. I look forward to winters down here. I like to bundle up to keep warm through the cold days. I don't wear anything special just warm clothes.Good article JamesI love Florida. A friend of mine lives in Miami, so if you could say hi for me that would be awesome. The winter here in the DC area is tricky at times. It's hot one day, warm the next, then freezing cold. What next?
I like the way you get into the four seasons - from a fashion sensibility. Cool - way cool! You've got great fashion sense and know what looks good on you and is in. Love it!Thanks. I take that as a compliment. I can assure you that I read some of the fashion magazines just to stay abreast of what's in and what's not. It's rare that I check the women's sites mostly just for us guys like GQ, The Source, & MensHealth etc.
Hi James.Brown! You forgot to mention brown for the ladies. In my book nothing looks smarter than black and brown together.I get the impression you love fall with a passion and not just for the food or the fashion. It's my favorite season.I just love boots. You can dress them up or down. I especially like the soft slouchy kind. But the high heels went out the door years ago ... just too hard on my aging back , knees and feet. And short skirts, yikes. Wore them when I was twenty, haven't since. Long, loose and flowing is my preference. But blue jeans is sort of my uniform and fall-back when I just don't know what to wear. Love them!I enjoyed your article a lot.Hugs, DianneYes, brown I certainly forgot that one. Yes, it's that time of year to break out the gear that can keep you warm during those chilly days. Sweaters are one my favorites too. I am glad you enjoyed the article.
I am an elderly lady, and I do not understand "I fly" or so great of an importance on dressing with the so-called "in" crowd. I am more interested in what is inside the person, but probably well done from a "fashion-interested" view pointYes, I was just being comical with the "I fly" statement. Thought it would add a twist. Of course the inside is what counts, but at my age appearance counts too in my opinion. From a fashion point of view yes the way you dress says something about you. For instance, when I wear jeans, I feel relaxed, but when I wear my suit I feel more professional. Thanks for commenting. :-)Well, I do agree that appearance does count. It is disturbing when people dress better for work than they do for worship. I'm just not into the newest styles. Plain but neat is my forte. You are absolutely right, church should be the number one place to look your best. I dress better for work than at home most of the time. I am almost always working on a project at home, drywall, painting, etc.
Omelet stains can be rather exciting depending where on the pants they are but unlike Linda, I'd never call you a 'twist'; I have been wearing winter gloves and winter hats all summer because just like you I couldn't wait!In the summer I wore shorts, shades, ankle socks, tshirts and jeans on occasion. It was hot and humid this summer so I tried to keep my clothing as light as possible. In the fall, you can wear layers exposing & sharing more of your wardrobe to others.Black shades, always barefoot and a tattered bathrobe with green jockeys underneath gave me that required layered look to roam the hot city streets in; its fashion statement was chic enough to provide me a seat on a crowded bus or train.Polite people seemed always willing to move aside.Any other tips?Way to go.... !!!
Great article James, a blend of fashion and food. I really enjoyed it.Yes, maybe I should've added the food part first... still debating on that one.
You have great fashion sense. I really enjoyed reading this article.Thanks. For work I am going to wear some combat boots, with a dark charcoal suit and a firefighter's hat. I'm sure I will get noticed ...lol.
