Microsoft PowerPoint 2007: Creating a Chart Object from an Existing file

Difficulty: Intermediate. Prior chart knowledge is mandatory.

Select the slide that you wish to add the chart object to.

On the Insert tab, select the Object button and a pop up box will appear.

Choose the create from file option

Use the Browse option, if you do not know the location of the file and a pop up box will appear.

Select the file you want and click OK. The chart object will appear on your slide.

Linking

If you want to link your data to the slide, click on the Link box and a check mark will appear.

Click OK. The chart object will appear on your slide.

Now you're all done. Have fun with this one!!!


Linking data is immediately updated on the chart when edits are made to source file and saved
